Our New Name – Mission Flight Services
Mission Flight Services, formerly called CMML Flight Service, was established in 1993. Over the years it has proven to be a safe and efficient means of transporting assembly missionaries in Zambia. With the Lord’s help, we have expanded and are now providing long distance administrative and purchasing assistance (i.e. doing errands in Lusaka for missionaries), comfortable accommodation in Lusaka, and technological support for 21st century communication at Kalene Mission.

Medical flight to Chitokoloki
On March 6th, 2013, John flew two patients from Kalene Mission Hospital to Chitokoloki Mission Hospital to receive specialized care. One elderly man had a severe prostate problem. The other man had a jaw that was fractured in 3 places! The Lord placed a ‘Maxillofacial surgeon’ at Chitokoloki just a day before this patient arrived. How is that for timing?
Because of Mission Flight Services, they were able to travel fairly comfortably in 90 minutes, rather than having an all-day journey over unpredictable rural roads on a crowded bus during Zambia’s rainy season.
Flights like these are partly covered by the compassionate/emergency fund. Click here for more information.

Committee meeting
The Flight Service Committee met February 18-20, 2013 at Kalene. Projects, accounts, policy and Mission Flight Services operations were reviewed, and decisions made for the future. We thank the Lord for His enabling, for safety in flying and for meeting many of the needs of this expanding ministry. Unfortunately Bert and Gordon were not able to attend as they were out of the country.

20 Years of Service
The CMML Flight Service, now known as Mission Flight Services, has on Feb 5/2013 reached the 20 year anniversary of its operation in Zambia! We praise God for His faithfulness and provision over these years. It is only because of Him that we’ve been able to develop an integrated service ministry here in Zambia.

A Milestone
In January 2013 we passed a milestone of 9000 hours flown since the Flight Service began in February 1993. This is over a million miles flown or the equivalent of 43 flights around the world. We thank the Lord for safety over these many hours flown, often in difficult situations which the rainy season brings. We appreciate your prayer and would ask you to continue to pray for safety of flight.
To reach 9000 hours, we have done 5 engine changes on our C-207 and 1 engine change on our C-182. We have refurbished the avionics, interiors and exteriors of both planes over the years to enhance safety and maintain the high quality of performance and appearance of our aircraft. We thank God for His continuing provision. The chart above shows the hours flown over the years.
