In 1906 Dr. Walter Fisher founded Kalene Hill Mission and later Sakeji School in 1925. The mission hospital was first established on top of Kalene Hill. In August 2006, the missionaries at Kalene celebrated its centennial anniversary. The Gospel came to this area over 100 years ago, and continues on. There are many local assemblies in the area.
